Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
HAAO is an open-source project operated by an individual ("Hsun-Chieh", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the HAAO marketing website at haao-site.pages.dev (the "Site"). We try to keep this honest and minimal — the Site is a static informational website and is not designed to collect personal data.
Scope
This policy covers only the Site. The HAAO software itself is open source and self-hosted: when you run HAAO on your own infrastructure, you control your own environment, model API keys, and code, and this policy does not apply to that usage. Your use of the software is governed by its license (MIT) and any third-party model providers you choose to connect.
Information we collect
Browsing the Site. You can browse the Site without creating an account or submitting any personal information. We do not ask you to register or log in.
If you contact us. The Site includes email ("mailto") links. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them solely to respond to and follow up on your inquiry.
Technical data via our host. The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and secure the Site, our hosting and CDN provider may automatically process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and request logs, in accordance with the provider's own privacy practices. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
Analytics. At this time we do not run our own analytics and do not set tracking cookies on the Site. If we add analytics in the future, we will prefer privacy-friendly, cookieless solutions and will update this policy before or when we do so.
Cookies
The Site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookies set by our hosting/CDN provider, if any, are limited to those necessary to deliver and secure the Site.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to respond to your inquiries, and to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We rely on service providers — such as our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) and email provider — that process information on our behalf in order to run the Site and communicate with you. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.
Third-party links
The Site links to external services, including GitHub and the interactive demo. Those services are operated by third parties and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of websites we link to.
Data retention
We keep emails and related correspondence only as long as needed to respond to you and for reasonable record-keeping, after which we delete them.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you (which, for most visitors, is limited to any email correspondence you have sent us). To make a request, contact us at the address below.
Children
The Site is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International processing
The Site is served via a global content delivery network, so technical data may be processed in countries other than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
